Set in England during the 1930s, The 39 Steps is a suspenseful comedy based on the Alfred Hitchcock movie of the same title. This show is a hectic following of Richard Hannay, who was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and becomes the prime suspect of a murder. I was inspired by the vertical lines found in Art Deco and how that correlates to train tracks and bridge structures (both found within the play). This play is fast moving, especially for costumes, since there are only 4 actors playing 25+ characters, so establishing characters quickly was essential.
